What the Program Is About

STEPP FORWARD is designed to support individuals who are ready to take the next step in business development. Whether someone is just beginning with an idea, operating a side business, or working to grow an existing small business, the program provides a guided pathway to help them move from concept to action.
 

Participants receive business readiness support, training workshops, mentorship, networking opportunities, and a personalized pathway plan. The goal is to help each participant build a stronger foundation, make informed decisions, and position themselves for future success.

This is not a casual drop-in program. STEPP FORWARD is a structured training initiative intended for individuals who are serious about developing a business and committed to completing the full process.

 

This program is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development

 

Who Should Apply

• Aspiring entrepreneurs

• Small businesses ready to grow

• Side-hustlers ready to launch

• Entrepreneurs in rural or underserved communities
   

What Participants Receive

• Business readiness assessment

• Personalized business pathway plan

• Eligibility for up to $75,000 in micro-grant funding (certain conditions apply)

Program Expectations

Participants are expected to fully engage in the program and complete all required training components. To be considered for funding eligibility at the end of the program, participants must complete 100 hours of classes and program participation requirements.

This expectation is important because the program is designed to produce meaningful outcomes, not just provide information. The full training process helps participants develop a stronger understanding of business fundamentals, planning, strategy, and readiness for growth.

Applicants should be prepared to:

• Take the program seriously as a pathway toward business growth and funding readiness

Completion of the program does not automatically guarantee funding, but successful completion is required in order to qualify for consideration.
